## Training and Experience

My name is Dr Thomas Tan and will be caring for you or your child during the procedure.

I am a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and received my specialist qualifications in 1992. I have taught, researched and have clinical anaesthesia experience in Australia and America. I have had a public appointment at the Royal Melbourne Hospital as a consultant anaesthetist for 22 years. I have been an examiner for the final examination for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists for 12 years and participate in the Continuing Professional Development Program of the College.

I regularly teach trainee doctors in anaesthesia topics. I am involved in overseas teaching having been to Ho Chi Minh City to teach Primary Trauma Care in May 2018

My interests include:  
Real tennis and radio controlled gliders  
Paediatric orthopaedic anaesthesia  
Reno-vascular anaesthesia  
Vascular anaesthesia  
Orthopaedic anaesthesia
