Training and Experience

Robert is a highly regarded specialist anaesthetist who is committed to providing calm, attentive and individualised care to his patients. He understands that undergoing surgery can be stressful, and takes the time to ensure patients feel informed, reassured and comfortable before, during and after their procedure. He values clear communication and works closely with surgeons and theatre staff to help deliver a safe and seamless experience.

Robert has particular expertise in obstetric and gynaecological anaesthesia and currently holds a public appointment at Northern Hospital. In his private practice, Robert provides anaesthesia across a wide variety of surgical specialties including vascular, orthopaedic, plastic, urological and maxillofacial surgery.

After completing his biomedical degree at the University of Melbourne, Robert undertook further medical training in Queensland before returning to his home in Victoria to pursue specialist training in anaesthesia. During this time, he worked across several major tertiary centres including the Royal Children’s Hospital and the University Hospital of Geelong. He went on to complete fellowship training at two of Australia’s most prestigious hospitals — The Royal Women’s Hospital and The Alfred — and is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, following the AFL and keeping up with a wide range of sports.
